What Is A Roller Screw?
Creative Motion Control’s Performance Roller Screws (PRS) transform rotational movement into linear movement (and vice versa). Generally they are used in electromechanical actuation units to control movement in high precision, medium to high load applications. The PRS uses grooved rollers as the anti-friction device between the nut along the outside of the screw and the screw itself. Depending upon the design, either the nut or the screw rotates which then generates the linear movement.
The CMC Performance Roller Screw is a high force, high efficiency, low friction, lead screw based assembly that uses recirculating rollers instead of ball bearings (as in a ball screw). The CMC Roller Screw is able to deliver more force with less required motor torque, reducing motor requirements and making it possible to deliver a smaller screw for comparable load performance. Creative Motion Control is excited to be the only US manufacturer of such equipment.
